The Bible is falling apart,as it is at least 260 years old. I took it to the antique show yesterday to ask if they had any preservation ideas. They were not very helpful, only wanted to appraise it.
Mr Appraiser says it isn't worth much because it is literally, disintegrating as we speak. It would be very hard to rebind it as the hand writing with the dates would be lost. He believes it is a Protestant Bible.
As it is, the value is less than $100. I wasn't looking for value so much as how to care for it. There is a book seller in town I will check with next.
There were a few other interesting items in the basket that I will post about later.
