Gladys Bergeron Selby

Gladys Margaret Bergeron (1903-1943) married George Selby (1902-1976). Information I have on him:
1923
George may have immigrated through Canada and arrived in Winnipeg Oct 1923. His naturalization papers are signed by Elzena Bergeron and Margaret McCauley. McCauley is grandma Emma McCauley Gann family more than likely.
I didn't know they had moved to California. I asked Maxine if she knew the name and she said when her parents left Lomita to move to San Francisco when the war started they rented their house to cousins of Etta Gann Bergeron. I assume these may be Margaret McCauley family. Need to check this out.

1930 Census George is living in Los Angeles and working as an accountant for automobile sales. Born in Scotland. George may have been working at the car dealership that Samuel Gann owned (or worked at) in Long Beach when he met Gladys.

Gladys had one daughter before she died at age 49.
Janet Selby Creech may still be living in Santa Ana. Janet and her husband Kenneth Creech(1931-2006) could have been living in Coos Bay area 1998-2000 where her husbands family may live.

Gladys grand daughter, Debbie information in comments below.

Eclair

Uncle Jack and Aunt Libby had a photo of the "Eclair" on their wall.
Uncle Ed's history on the back of the photo stated:

"The Eclair provided service to passengers and also hauled freight on the lakes in southern Quebec. Unknown exact location, near the Great Lakes between Canada and the United States. Captain Gabriel Bergeron had the boat around 1850-1875. The figure on the left top of the boat is Captain Bergeron."

I believe from my research that Captain Bergeron is
Adolphus Bergeron (birth Aug 1848 Hawkesbury, Canada-death Sept 1914 Hawkesbury, Canada). Adolphus is our great grand uncle, brother of George Grover Bergeron (great grandfather to us) that is buried in Los Angeles Calif.

1871 Census Adolphus (24 yrs old) is living in Hawkesbury with spouse Philomen and 3 yr old Adolphus.
George Bergeron in 1871 is 12 years old living in Hawkesbury with parents Gabriel and Clarissa our 2nd great grand parents. They are innkeepers in Hawkesbury. Their married daughter Clarissa is living with them.
1881 Census George and Margaret live in Lonqueil, Canada and are hoteliers. 1 1/2 hour drive from Hawkesbury.

Samuel Gann

Since I've been researching my family, I wondered why Samuel Gann (1851-1929) was born in California and his parents and sibs born in Buchanan County, Missouri.
Finally found the info last night that Samuel's father Elbert Gann (1828-1902) was serving in the Seminole War and traveled in the south extensively. Elbert's future father in law, Colonel Samuel Ferril was his commanding officer.
Elbert returned to Missouri and married Polly.
About1849-1850 Elbert and Polly, Elbert's two brothers traveled by wagon train to Sutter's Fort area to mine for gold. (This story will be added to the Blog later)
Elbert stayed in California for only a few years and returned to Missouri.
Samuel eventually returned to Long Beach, California where he remained the rest of his life.
In 1910 at age 59 he is living in Missouri. The next record so far is 1916, age 65, retired, living in Long Beach, Calif. His daughter Etta Gann married John Gabriel Bergeron in 1914. I'm not sure if this was in California or Missouri.
