I'm at the  Family Search Library in Salt Lake City Utah.

So I wonder if I should renew this blog?

My genealogy research has been very limited the last many years.

I do have a lot of information that isn’t on this blog.

I’ll play around with it and see if I can get it updated.

If any of you are from my Gann line I would love to hear from you.

Isn’t DNA fascinating? Lots of connections to follow through on.

I can be contacted at

---------------------------------------------------------------------

This is for the burial of George Denis Bergeron (1857-1901), the oldest son of our  great grandfather, George Grover Bergeron (1857-1928). George D is the oldest brother to John G (grand dad Bergeron) Earl, Elzenia and Gladys.

George was injured on the steamer "Giffen" as it went through the locks. A hauser became tangled around one of his legs and before anyone could come to his aid, his leg had been torn from his body.  He was taken to the hospital in Sault Ste. Marie where he died two days after surgery.
George G was summoned to the hospital by telegram.

There are several newspaper articles I will post later regarding his injury and death.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I called the cemetery and talked to the caretaker. There is a headstone, but no other Bergeron's in
Calvary Cemetery.
So, I went to Find a Grave and put in a request for photos from a volunteer. Less than a week later, I received notice that the photos are available for viewing.  S M Quint posted photos and gave me permission to share them with you all and on my Blog: Bergeron Family Lakeside, Or. (Usually Find a Grave will not let anyone use photos on other sites, especially Ancestry.com)
